Look
in any bookstore, and you will find the shelves lined with books on how
to lose weight. How many do you find that discuss how to gain weight?
Probably none! Most of the world is obsessed with losing weight.
But what about those who want to gain weight? For many under weight men and women, it is just as frustrating to be skinny as it is for the overweight person to be fat. Overweight individuals have to suffer the stares and the cruel nicknames thrown at them by inconsiderate others. So do underweight men and women. And it is just as hard for someone underweight to gain weight, as it is for the overweight person to lose it! The overweight person is told to "just eat less". But it isn't that simple. There are many more factors. And the same is true for someone underweight. It takes more than "just eat more" to pack on weight and muscle. Most skinny people find it just as uncomfortable to overeat as most fat people find it to undereat. So is there any hope? Yes there is!!!!!!!! First off, make weight gain your number one priority. It must come first. If work-outs are missed because of other commitments, and meals and supplements are skipped because you are too busy with other activities, you will never reach your goal. On the other hand, when you can say, "I never miss a workout" and "I follow my diet plan no matter what," then you are assured of success. This does not mean that you are expected to quit your job, drop out of school, cancel your commitments, and discontinue your leisure activities. It just means that weight gain comes first, and everything else follows. Second, decide which days to work out on (usually every other day is recommended for success) and stick to them! One missed workout can easily become two, and soon you will have lost all that you worked so hard to accomplish. Workouts should not be missed ever, with the exception of serious illness. Third, commit to the weight-gain diet! Fourth, commit to regular and rapid increase in the weight you lift. Once you stop at a certain poundage, and do not work to increase further, you will find your weight gain has also stpped. Copyright
